Year One Synopsis
Starring: Jack Black and Michael Cera
Release date: June 5th, 2009
Director: Harold Ramis
Year One holds its setting in the time-period of early biblical times (one may take a guess by the movie’s title Year One that it takes place in 1 A.D, but that is merely speculation on this writer’s behalf). The main characters of this story are a not-so-dynamic hunting-gathering duo known as Zed and Oh. One day, Zed and Oh’s persistent laziness and incompetence ends up getting the two banished from their homeland. Taken away from their primitive civilization, Zed and Oh travel around the world of the biblical period in search for a meaning to their lives. Year One will be a summer comedy set to come out next spring. The two main characters in Year One will be played by some very familiar faces in the comedy movie world. Zed will be played by Jack Black, who has been known and loved from many of his different roles (from such films as Nacho Libre, Be Kind Rewind, and Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny). Year One’s other main character, Oh, will be played by Michael Cera, who’s involvement in film has been constantly growing (he scored most of his fame from the sadly underrated television series Arrested Development and made his way to some big movies including Superbad and Juno). Look for Year One, a movie which will hopefully live up to Jack Black’s reputation for good laughs.
